about

Los Angeles based indie sextet, Minnow have emerged on the Southern California music scene with their interesting and perhaps dreamy new single "Coyote (Goodnight)". The track will be available via iTunes and comes from their upcoming debut release 'Trembles & Temperance', which is expected for release this October. Minnow spent time with engineer and producer Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Joyce Manor, Whirr) at his studio The Atomic Garden in Palo Alto, CA this past year creating a record that was tracked live in a way that it was "able to capture all of the nuances and impact of their live sound," says guitarist Kenny Tye. "Having two percussionists in the band, we knew it would be extremely important to capture the feeling of them playing in the same room." This feeling is best represented in "Coyote (Goodnight)" which also offers a very promising look into what's in store for the band's full length.

lyrics

"I am no coyote at play to lure in my prey. I am no mountain lion calling in the night. I'm just a stranger to my own mirror who sees reflections of myself in your eyes.

I slept walked to your room, wrapped you in the local news. I watched your body dancing tight rope with my youth. What ever will I become? Is that a cure on your tongue? I watched your shadow shifting shapes in the devil's light of love.

I want so far, I want so far away from everyone and into your open heart. I want so far, I want so far away from everyone I'd walk on broken arms.

I am no coyote at play to lure in my prey. I am no mountain lion calling in the night. I'm just a dreamer, a make believer who sees reflections of myself in your eyes.

The chaos in your wake hides in my breath you take away. I fall into your air like a hound down a hole from chasing hare.

I want so far away with you. The chaos in your wake hides in my breath you take away. I fall into your air like a hound down a hole from chasing hare."
